Permanently delete a document
Irreversibly delete a document: database rows, uploaded files, the sealed PDF, the signing certificate and the audit trail. There is no undo and no support path to recover it.
Requirements:
- The document must already be in the trash. Call
DELETE /api/v1/documents/{id}first. - Requires the
PERMANENTLY_DELETE_DOCUMENTworkspace permission, which is not part of the default document-permission set. - Requires the
documents:deletescope.
Completed documents: allowed, and the verify link printed into the sealed PDF keeps working. It resolves to a record holding the document ID, the sealed PDF’s SHA-256 and the deletion date — and no personal data. A counterparty holding the PDF can still check their copy against that hash; the PAdES signature in their file also validates on its own, without sajn.
Backups: the document is gone from the live database immediately. Encrypted database backups roll off within 7 days.
Authorizations
Personal API key, e.g. Authorization: Bearer sajn_sk_.... Not scope-limited — acts as the issuing user.
Headers
Bearer token for API authentication
Makes retries safe. A retry with the same key and the same request replays the stored response for 24 hours (header Idempotent-Replayed: true); the same key with a different request returns 400.
